Samos Island
Samos is the greenest island of the eastern Aegean sea, about 324 km away from the largest port of Greece, Piraeus and just 800 meter from the Asia Minor shores. Samos is neighbouring with Chios island in the north, Kusadasi in Turkey in the east, Patmos island in the south and Ikaria island in the west. Samos Island has about 36.000 permanent inhabitants.
Samos Island kept its unique, natural beauty and the honesty of its people. The island has an ancient history; the most famous Samians are the philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras and the astronomer Aristarchos. The island is very green with olive trees, vineyards and pine trees.

One can enjoy the fish taverns, the ouzeri offering special Greek mezedes with Samos ouzo or the famous Samian muscat wine, you will find numerous restaurants offering an international cuisine, local bars, cafes and the typical Greek kafenio.
It is well worthwhile to visit the many unique villages in the mountains hidden in the wild green nature and surrounded by vineyards. On your way you will pass monasteries and churches.
Art Galleries, cultural events and festivals take place all the year round. The most popular are the Kalomiris and the Samos Wine Festival every summer.
